Younger, ‘Cole’ (1844–1916)

US bandit. Born in Jackson County, Missouri, he was one of ‘Quantrill's Raiders’ during the American Civil War. He joined with Jesse James and formed the James–Younger band, which included Cole and his two brothers, James Younger and Robert Younger. Shot and captured during a failed bank raid in Northfield, Minnesota, the three brothers were sentenced to life imprisonment.
