Yun, Isang (1917–1995)| Korean-born German composer. He studied in Korea and Japan, and with Blacher and Rufer in Berlin. An espousal of serial techniques (methods of composition based on the twelve-note system) led to the withdrawal of works written before 1959. In 1967 he was kidnapped from West Berlin by South Korean agents and charged with sedition. After release, he taught at the Hochschule für Musik, Berlin, 1970–85. |
