Zía Pueblo

Small town in Sandoval County, northwest New Mexico; population (1990) 600. It is located 48 km/30 mi north-northwest of Albuquerque. Zía is known for its ancient sun symbol, the official state emblem, and for its pottery and painting. Mission Nuestra Señora de la Asunción (1692) is in the pueblo.
