Zach, Jan (1699–1773)

Bohemian organist and composer. He worked as a violinist and organist in Prague, where he came under the influence of Cernohorský. He later left for Germany, and in 1745 was appointed kapellmeister to the Electoral court in Mainz. He was dismissed c. 1757 and spent the rest of his life travelling, without permanent employment.
