Zacharias, Christian (1950– )

German pianist. He studied in Paris with Vlado Perlemuter and has appeared in England from 1976 with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, and other orchestras. He made his US debut in 1979, with the Boston Symphony Orchestra; he subsequently appeared with the Cleveland Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. From 1981 he has performed at the Salzburg Festival. He has given chamber concerts with Heinrich Schiff and the Alban Berg Quartet.
