Zagań

Industrial town (lignite mining, textiles) in Zielona Góra province, Poland, on the Bóbr River, 40 km/25 mi south of Zielona Góra; population (1990) 27,600. It has a 17th-century palace built by the German general Albrecht Wallenstein. Zagań was capital of a principality 1274–1472 and part of German Lower Silesia until 1945.
