Zauberflöte, Die

Opera by Mozart (libretto by Emanuel Schikaneder, with the aid of K L Giesecke), produced at the Theater auf der Wieden, Vienna, on 30 September 1791. Peter Winter's opera Das Labyrinth is a sequel to it. There is also an unfinished libretto by Goethe intended for a sequel. In the story, Prince Tamino and Pamina undergo the trials of their love while the birdcatcher Pagageno finds a mate.
