Zednik, Heinz (1940– )

Austrian tenor. He has sung at the Vienna Opera since 1965 in such character roles as Pedrillo, Jacquino, and Monostatos. He made his Bayreuth debut in 1970, and sang Loge and Mime in the 1976 Cheréau-Boulez centennial Ring. In the same year he took part in the first performance of Einem's Kabale und Liebe (Vienna). He has appeared as a guest performer in Paris, Moscow, and Montreal. Other roles include Berg's Painter, David, and Lortzing's Tsar Peter.
