Zeitlin, Zvi (1923- )

Russian-born US violinist. He studied at the Juilliard School, New York, and in Jerusalem where he made his debut in 1940. His US debut was made in 1951 and he first appeared in London in 1961. From 1967 he was on the faculty of Eastman School, Rochester. He was an authority on Nardini but was best known for his performances of modern works: he was the leading exponent of Schoenberg's concerto which he recorded with Kubelik, in 1971.
