Zelmira

Opera by Rossini (libretto by A L Tottola, based on a French tragedy by Dormont de Belloy), produced at the Teatro San Carlo, Naples, on 16 February 1822. In the story, Zelmira is rescued by her returning husband, Ilo, Prince of Troy, after the usurper Antenore and Leucippo accuse her of killing her father Polidoro. She has, in fact, kept Polidoro safe from the treacherous Antenore.
