When they arrived in Zerqa, northeast of Najaf, they were greeted by the Khazaal tribe.
In the northern industrial city of Zerqa, Jordan's second largest, the Mother of Mercy Clinic serves a mainly refugee population from a nearby Palestinian camp and focuses on prenatal and infant care.
The climax of the crisis was the confrontation at the Zerqa military camp between Bedouin troops and officers and the hadari, non-Bedouin, nationalist officers who were inspired and supported by their mentors in Cairo and Damascus.
