Industrial town (chemicals, textiles, clothing) in Łódź province, central Poland, on the River Bzura, 11 km/7 mi north of Łódź; population (2002) 58,400.

He leaves his wife, Halina (Gibka) Smola, a daughter, Beata Kukul of Czestochowa, Poland; a step daughter, Agnieszka Marciniak of Zgierz, Poland; two brothers, Jozef Smola and Wilhelm Smola and a sister, Izabela Klempka all of Lubsko, Poland; two grandsons, one step granddaughter, one step grandson and nephews and nieces.
Playing at a World Cup was a dream come true for a player who began his career with his hometown club Zgierz and in 1992 progressed on to LKS Lodz where he won the Polish championship in 1997-98.
Klos, from Zgierz in Poland, is a former LKS Losz, Auxerre and Kaiserslautern player who has scored one goal in 40 international appearances.
