Zollinger-Ellison syndrome

Rare condition characterized by excessive production of gastric acid due to a slow-growing pancreatic tumour. It leads to diarrhoea and peptic ulceration. Treatment is with H2-receptor antagonists, with surgery reserved for removal of the tumour.
