Zukovsky, Paul (1943– )

US violinist. He studied at the Juilliard School, New York. In 1969 he started a series of concerts, ‘Music for the 20th-Century Violin’ in which he performed sonatas by Ives and concertos by Schuman and Sessions. In 1972 he gave the first performance of the concerto for amplified violin and orchestra by Charles Wuorinen, at Tanglewood, with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He has recorded works by Cage, Carter (Duo), Penderecki (Capriccio), Glass (Einstein on the Beach), and Feldman.
