In its forays into government, religion has often functioned in "Calvinist form," which Noll describes as "direct and activistic application of religious principles to public problems. But from the very beginning such thinkers had to contend--within the conservative movement itself--with economistic and activistic thinking. To commemorate this Journal's fifteen years of success, I reviewed the cogency and accruing empirical verisimilitude of that agnostic questioning of activistic judgmental investing. |
