Diss

Town in Norfolk, England, on the River Waveney, 32 km/20 mi southwest of Norwich; population (2001) 6,740. Most trade is related to agriculture and large weekly livestock, poultry, and corn markets. Diss was formerly a centre for the manufacture of worsted and hemp cloth.

The 15th–16th-century poet John Skelton was a native of Diss.
