agrochemical

Artificially produced chemical used in modern, intensive agricultural systems. Agrochemicals include nitrate and phosphate fertilizers, pesticides, some animal-feed additives, and pharmaceuticals. Many are responsible for pollution and almost all are avoided by organic farmers.
