Now, a team of university, and industrial engineers has created a
prototype, microscale air pump that they say could be fabricated with
the techniques used to mass-produce microelectronic components such as
transistors. The pressure of viewers standing on the wooden
platform on top of the two layers caused the air pump to inflate the
balloons. The monitor was attached to the shoulder
strap of either a backpack or a fanny pack that contained the air pump. |
