Alba

Gaelic name for Scotland; also an alternative spelling for Alva, Ferdinand Alvarez de Toledo, Duke of Alva, Spanish politician and general.

alba

Type of troubadour-trouvère song, in which the singer watches for daybreak on behalf of two lovers (for example Reis glorios, by Guiraut de Bornelh). As used by the Minnesinger it was called Tagelied.

The Albas get as much of a kick out of filling and hiding the eggs in the early-morning hours (some are colored, hard-cooked eggs while others are plastic eggs filled with coins and $1 bills or candy or a surprise such as a fortune, joke, cartoon, etc.
