dermatitis

Inflammation of the skin (see eczema), usually related to allergy. Dermatosis refers to any skin disorder and may be caused by contact or systemic problems.

Initially noting dermal manifestations, consistent with an allergic contact dermatitis secondary to accelerators present in latex gloves, he later developed urticaria, flushing, and respiratory symptoms, consistent with a type I hypersensitivity reaction to latex.
There are two main types of contact dermatitis; irritant contact dermatitis (ICD) and allergic contact dermatitis (ACD).
In general, however, alcohol handrubs cause less skin irritation and allergic contact dermatitis, according to the CDC.
