anabatic wind
| Warm wind that blows uphill in steep-sided valleys in the early morning. As the sides of a valley warm up in the morning the air above is also warmed and rises up the valley to give a gentle breeze. By contrast, a katabatic wind is cool and blows down a valley at night. |
