andalusite

Aluminium silicate, Al2SiO5, a white to pinkish mineral crystallizing as square- or rhombus-based prisms. It is common in metamorphic rocks formed from clay sediments under low-pressure conditions. Andalusite, kyanite, and sillimanite are all polymorphs of Al2SiO5.
