In medicine, the characteristic uneven sound that is heard when examining the diseased heart and various blood vessels using a stethoscope. Murmurs may be an indication of disease of the heart valves.

On auscultation an accentuation in the pulmonary component of the S2, high frequency pansystolic murmur at the apex with radiation to axilla and back, low frequency apical diastolic murmur and third heart sound were heard.
