appraisal

Review of an employee's performance. Appraisals may be held annually, or more frequently, and are often linked to pay reviews in companies operating a wage policy related to performance. Predetermined subjects such as timekeeping, sickness absence, and task completion are likely to be discussed, usually on a one-to-one basis with an immediate superior. Appraisal meetings will also cover the training needs, career progression, and the ambitions of the employee being appraised.
