arrowhead

Sagittaria sagittifolia, a species of water plant of the family Alismataceae, native to Europe. It has arrow-shaped leaves and flowers which appear above the surface. There are also leaves below the water, and these are very thin and ribbonlike; the stem is a rhizome.
