arteriography

Method of examining the interior of an artery by injecting into it a radiopaque solution, which is visible on an X-ray photograph. It is used for the arteries of the heart (coronary arteriogram), for example. The more general term covering all types of blood vessels is angiography.

Following embolization of numerous branches of the right lingual artery and the right internal maxillary artery, a left common carotid arteriogram was obtained.
