atomic size

Size of an atom expressed as the radius in angstroms or other units of length.

The sodium atom has an atomic radius of 1.57 angstroms (1.57 x 10−8 cm). For metals, the size of the atom is always greater than the size of its ion. For non-metals the reverse is true.
