rhinitis

Inflammation of the mucous membrane of the nose. It may be caused by virus infection (the common cold) or by some allergen, as in hay fever.

These antimicrobial agents are not among the 4 antimicrobial agents authorized in Europe for growth promotion (14) but are used orally to treat bacterial infections such as group E streptococcal pneumonia or atrophic rhinitis and diarrhea (2).
Atrophic rhinitis is a chronic nasal disease characterized by mucosal atrophy, resorption of the underlying bone, the formation of thick crusts, and a distinctive fetid odor.
