Love-duet said or sung by lovers who have to part at dawn.

aubade

‘Morning song’, in the same sense that a serenade is an evening song; compare Spanish alborada.

It was used as the title of a choreographic concerto for piano and 18 instruments by Poulenc, first performed in Paris, France, on 18 June 1929.
