autoradiography

In biology, a technique for following the movement of molecules within an organism, especially a plant, by labelling with a radioactive isotope that can be traced on photographs. It is commonly used to study photosynthesis, where the pathway of radioactive carbon dioxide can be traced as it moves through the various chemical stages.
