In the left side of the heart, a flap of tissue that prevents blood flowing back into the atrium when the ventricle contracts.

Both the tricuspid and bicuspid valves, molded from resin, are highly defined, and the marble base provides pre-eminent stability and 360-degree viewing.
While normal aortic valves have three tissue leaflets to regulate the flow of blood in the heart, a bicuspid valve has only two leaflets to perform that function.
It is therefore important to identify those women who do have a bicuspid valve and start them on prophylactic antibiotics prior to any surgical procedure.
