blow-out round

    0.02 sec.

blow-out round

Term describing situation where a start-up company requires a further cash injection after it has received its first round of funding. This is unfortunate for initial investors because another round of financing at a lower price will substantially dilute their stake unless they have the benefit of an antidilution clause. It is sometimes called a wash-out round.
