parvovirus

In medicine, one of a group of viruses responsible for epidemic nausea and vomiting. Outbreaks can affect whole communities and are more common in the winter. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and giddiness but the disease is not serious and usually lasts for less than three days.

Methods: Purified bovine thrombin was challenged with a high-titer clarified brain homogenate of the 263K hamster scrapie strain, a model for bovine transmissible spongiform encephalopathy agents, and 4 representative model viruses: bovine parvovirus (BPV), xenotropic mucine leukemia virus (XMuLV), pseudorabies virus (PRV), and bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV).
