Brussels sprout

One of the small edible buds along the stem of a variety of cabbage. (Brassica oleracea var. gemmifera.) They are high in the glucosinolate compound sinigrin. Sinigrin was found to destroy precancerous cells in laboratory rats in 1996.

Kohlrabi is a subspecies of Brassica oleracea, a protean species that includes cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, brussels sprouts and collard greens.
Add citrus to cooked veggies; oranges and sweet pink grapefruit go well with green beans, baked sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, kale, or spinach.
