Constructed of copper plated with brass, it has long been used as a military instrument for giving a range of signals based on the tones of a harmonic series. The bugle has a conical bore whereas the trumpet is cylindrical. bugleAny of a group of low-growing plants belonging to the mint family, with spikes of white, pink, or blue flowers.
