Burley

City in south-central Idaho, on the Snake River, 56 km/35 mi east of Twin Falls; population (1990) 8,700. It is a shipping and processing point for an agricultural and dairying area. Burley has brickyards, refines sugar beet, and mills alfalfa meal and potato flour. National speedboat racing championships are held here annually.

The Minidoka National Wildlife Refuge is to the northeast and the City of Rocks National Reserve is to the south.
