Opera by Rossini (libretto by Giacomo Rossi, based on a comedy by C Federici), first produced at the Teatro San Moisè, Venice, Italy, on 3 November 1810. It was Rossini's first opera to be performed. In the plot Tobias Mill is keen to sell off his daughter Fanny, but the young Milfort intervenes.
