A maker of laser and capacitive thickness gauges for film has developed an unusual system for high speed detection of a missing layer in 1-meter-wide, three-layer polyolefin film for lithium batteries. The Selcom 2401 is specifically designed to replace capacitive sensors on existing tire uniformity machines for tight work areas and high speed profiling of problematic materials such as green rubber and high silicone rubber.
