capitalization

In business, total market value of a company's issued share capital. This is calculated by multiplying the number of shares issued by a company by the current price of the shares.

The term is also used to describe the capital structure of a company, that is, the proportions of debt or equity, and the proportions of the equity that are ordinary or preference shares.
