cerebellum

Part of the brain of vertebrate animals which controls muscle tone, movement, balance, and coordination. It is relatively small in lower animals such as newts and lizards, but large in birds since flight demands precise coordination. The human cerebellum is also well developed, because of the need for balance when walking or running, and for finely coordinated hand movements.

In other brain studies, Giedd has found smaller cerebellums in kids with ADHD than in their ADHD-free peers.
While trying to do both tasks, scans showed the subjects' cerebellums stayed cold and their performances didn't improve.
In the initial scan, the children with ADHD were shown to have smaller cerebrums, the area of the brain that controls mental processing, and cerebellums, which control voluntary muscle activity in the body.
