There were no increases in chemiluminescence in NHBE cells by any of the particles. In nine patients, hantavirus serotyping was performed by chemiluminescence focus reduction neutralization assays (c-FRNTs), as described recently (13). Although there are few data on the effects of artificial light on fireflies, Lloyd suggests that because their chemiluminescence has similar spectra to incandescent light, fireflies in its presence may not court mates normally. |
