The specialized care and treatment of feet. Originally, it referred to the treatment of hands as well as feet, but it is now synonymous with podiatry.

Specialized care and treatment of feet; practitioners are called chiropodists. Some treatments involve the use of orthopaedic devices to correct fallen arches or improve improper positioning of feet during walking.
