chondrule

In astronomy, small, round mass of the silicate minerals olivine and orthopyroxene. Chondrites (stony meteorites) are characterized by the presence of chondrules.

Chondrules are thought to be mineral grains that condensed from hot gas in the early Solar System, most of which were later incorporated into larger bodies from which the planets formed.

This meteorite contains both chondrules and metal flaking and is an L4 type chondrite with a terrestrial age of between 15,000 and 20,000 years old.
Inclusions and chondrules formed independently of meteorites and were later incorporated into them.
Basaltic achondrites lack the rounded particles, or chondrules, found inside most stony meteorites.
