    0.07 sec.

clemenza di Tito, La

Opera by Christoph Willibald von Gluck (libretto by Pietro Metastasio), first produced at the Teatro San Carlo, Naples, Italy, on 4 November 1752.

It is also the title of an opera by Mozart (Metastasio's libretto, altered by Caterino Mazzolà), first produced in Prague, to celebrate the coronation of the emperor Leopold II as king of Bohemia, on 6 September 1791. The story tells how Titus forgives Vitellia and Sextus for plotting against him.

See also Tito Vespasiano.
