clicks and mortar

Companies that have combined an online business strategy (clicks) with a traditional offline strategy (mortar). This is in contrast to Internet pureplays, such as Yahoo!, who operate online only, and bricks and mortar companies that do not operate online. Many clicks and mortar companies, including large companies such as eBay, started as pure plays but have diversified either by starting up their own physical operations, often for order fulfilment, or by acquiring well established traditional businesses.
