diuresis

In medicine, increase in the production of urine. It may be due to increased fluid intake, decreased levels of antidiuretic hormone (vasopressin), renal disease, or the use of diuretics. Diuretics are used in the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension) and heart failure.
