concrete noun

A type of common noun that can be identified by the senses of sight and touch (car, table, fig, book). Nouns that are not concrete are abstract nouns. Some nouns can fall into either category, according to usage. Art and feeling are usually abstract nouns, but in these sentences they are concrete: ‘I've brought my art.’ ‘I have a funny feeling in my stomach.’
