Latin American dance, originally from Cuba, in which the participants form a winding line, take three steps forwards or backwards, and then kick.

Afro-Cuban barrel drum, long and narrow in shape, played with the fingers and palms; also an Afro-Cuban ballroom dance in duple time (2/4), with a syncopated rhythm.

Congas are the widely used Afro Cuban originated percussion musical instrument.
Just listen to the fun these guys (Pancho Sanchez, vocals, congas, timbales, and percussion; David Torres, piano; Ramon Banda, timbales and chekere; Tony Banda, bass, vocals, and chekere; Jose Rodriguez, bongos, chekere, and congas; Sal Cracchiolo, trumpet and flugelhorn; Scott Martin, saxophones and flute; Francisco Torres, trombone; and Mike Witman, baritone sax) have as they tear into Herbie Hancock's "Watermelon Man," blowing and banging and tearing the joint up.
