converse

In mathematics, the reversed order of a conditional statement; the converse of the statement ‘if a, then b’ is ‘if b, then a’. The converse does not always hold true; for example, the converse of ‘if x = 3, then x2 = 9’ is ‘if x2 = 9, then x = 3’, which is not true, as x could also be −3.

Converse

City in Bexar County, south-central Texas, USA, 23 km/14 mi northeast of San Antonio; population (1990) 8,900. Converse is a growing suburb just southwest of Randolph Air Force Base.
