convolvulus

Any of a group of plants belonging to the morning-glory family. They are characterized by their twining stems and by their petals, which are joined into a funnel-shaped tube. (Genus Convolvulus, family Convolvulaceae.)

The hedge bindweed (Convolvulus sepium), a trailing plant with spear-shaped leaves and large, pinkish-white flowers, is native to northern Europe, Asia, and North America.

He saw it creeping into the stained trumpet of a Tyrian convolvulus.
It was pleasant to see the convolvulus, the passion-flower, and the begonia, all reminding me of home, here among these inhospitable rocks.
